My Sweet 3 year old

My sweet Carys has grown up so much since Charlie was born. I look at her and I just can't believe how big she is! I also just realized that I never blogged about her 3rd birthday party last month which turned out great. I put a lot of effort into making it special for her and she had a fabulous time! We had it in the backyard, with a bounce house, butterfly craft, some face painting, and lots of goodies. She could play outside for hours and she loves to have people over, so she was pretty much in heaven. My new mom brain completely forgot to take pictures (so lame!) but thankfully some friends took some good ones for me! Since her b-day she has given up the binky and is potty training, slooowly but surely.
Here are pictures from each of her birthdays so far:

Mental Vacation

I used to take "mental vacations" when I was working, but now I find them useful at my current job, because I now know that going to work is in fact easier than staying home! (Not that I would trade it for anything of course)
This is where I'm going today in the midst of potty training and crying baby.
Do join me won't you?

Charlie & Chilaquiles

Two new things we are in love with this week....

Charlie is 3 1/2 months old and she's propping herself up, on the verge of the rollover!

And Chilaquiles which is an easy and delicious meal that can be made with any leftover meat of your pleasure. Ever since my friend Ana made them for me and told me how to make it, I've made them with ham, leftover pot roast, and pork shoulder. My husband is a very happy man. So thank you Ana, the Wunische's salute you.

You start with corn tortillas, onions and bell peppers AKA our new best friends. I really like taking pictures of food, it makes me happy.

After everything is cooked up all nice and good, I make a big hole and dump in eggs last, scramble them up....

and Voila! Happy husband.

Alaska

Cousins Mason, Kierra, Khloe, and Carys

Just got back from Alaska where my brother-in-law Matt and new wife Kaili live. We were there for their wedding, it was a great (but short) visit. Though with the 22 hours of daylight it seemed like we were there longer than 4 days! The 5 hour flight wasn't too bad since the girls slept most of the way, its just the pesky holding them while they sleep part that gets tiring. On the way home, our flight left at 1 am. I seemed to have lost my ID so I had to wait to go through some additional screening, and we ended up running through the terminal just to make our flight on time - all while carrying 2 sleeping girls, 2 car seats, 3 carry-on bags, a stroller, and a partridge in a pear tree. This morning while unpacking, I found my ID in my diaper bag.

Niiiice.

So here are some pics!

This is our niece Khloe. She's a sweetheart.

And here's our other niece Kierra, she's turning one this week!

Carys was in heaven everywhere we went, just running around playing in the grass and dirt.

Kaili and Kierra right before the ceremony

Sealin' the deal!

They looked so happy and in love, how a wedding should be I reckon!
(yes i just used the word reckon)

Behind the cabin where the wedding was, we found this stump and I happened to get the cutest picture of Carys ever...I'm just sayin'.

Charlie girl was there too! Beautiful.
