Label Me

I don't know if anyone is as excited about this as I am, but Martha Stewart is now doing a big ol' home office line of labeling products with Avery and Staples. I know, I know, can you barely stand the excitement???
Who knew labels could be so fun....

Chalkboard Labels for the kitchen

Labels for parties...

For whatever! Oh Martha, Martha, I totally forgive you for your white collar crimes....

Touch of Gray

We painted our house a couple months ago. Unfortunately I will always associate it with our little turtle escaping and getting run over when the gate was open. He was not long for this world. He wanted to live free or die! And he almost made it across the street too.
RIP Tebow!

OK so aaanyway the house looks great, I love it. The color we picked was called Charcoal Smudge by Dunn Edwards. And we spray painted the mailbox yellow. I like to think of it as the handkerchief in the suit pocket...or something like that.

This is the before....we also tore out the bushes and plan to replace them with something else.

Here's the after....trust me it looks classier without the christmas lights

So last year...

Let's see, what did I do this year. Cooked a lot of meals, had a lot of play dates, and had another baby! I'm excited this year to get out there more and have some adventures. As I've shared before, I have so many ideas floating around in my head of things I want to do or get done, but once I am faced with free alone time, I remember....wait, I can sleep! Or one of my other faves, sitting on the couch and doing nothing. ha!
So long story short, this year I would like to be more active. More active in physical exercise and in spiritual exercise: being in the Word more and in prayer more (in touch with headquarters as they say), and basically, more active in life!

"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning, great is Your faithfullness. "The Lord is my portion", says my soul, therefore I hope in Him!"

Lamentations 3:22-24

And here are some pics from the end of the year:

Breakfast EnCHEE-LAH-DAs

See when you say "enchilada" you have to say it the way they do in Meh-HEE-co. Got it?

I got this easy and delicious recipe off Look Who's Cookin Now, my favorite recipe blog. It's just ham, cheese, green onions and eggs, plus a few other things. You simply must try this amigos. I used leftover ham from my mom's Christmas dinner...total score! I didn't take pics so I stole the one off her site, but trust me, mine looked pretty much like this. I highly recommend for breakfast, or for dinner like we had them. They could easily be eaten alone, but we had them with leftover homemade refried beans from my brother's Christmas dinner. Ole!

Ok fine, I guess that's enough Mexican references for now...by the way, she assembled hers the night before and then baked in the morning. I think this step is just a time saver because I made mine for dinner and assembled right before baking.

You can find the recipe here.

Well we are off to Idaho for the next week, so hasta la vista!! (i couldn't resist)

My Heart

Pretty much my favorite picture ever.

Charlie girl after a bath. She is the sweetest baby. I just love to snuggle with her

Spoiler alert! This is Carys' Christmas dress. She likes to wear it every night.

Charlie goes through about 6 bibs a day. Drool central.

Christmas Vacation

How about spending it here? Don't mind if I do...

The Igloo Village of Hotel Kakslauttanen in Finland boasts 20 thermal glass igloos that allow visitors to enjoy incredible views of the Aurora Borealis from the warmth and comfort of their own geodesic hut. What is geodesic you ask? I don't know but I think I like it.

One of the world’s seven natural wonders, Aurora Borealis results from the collision of gaseous particles from the earth’s atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun. Although the hotel does not guarantee a view of the Northern Lights, they keep constant watch over the weather conditions and ring a signaling bell for visitors to look to the sky when the phenomenon is visible.

"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork."
