The Power of Christ
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent"
1 Corinthians 1:18-19

And then there were four...
And here we are with this...
Sweet!
Most of my waking moments not spent with the baby are spent with Carys or sleeping, so I haven't made time to update my blog of course. I've been blessed with my mom staying with me for a week, and Nathan's mom here all last week. This week is when the reality will set in I think! But Charlie is a good baby and I am doing so much better than I was with Carys. The nursing is going great and I am just more relaxed overall. Just taking it one day at a time. I'm so thankful I was able to have her naturally and not do the c-section. Sidenote: I am in awe that the human race has managed to perpetuate itself through thousands of years of all natural childbirth, needless to say I don't have the greatest pain threshold.
Here are some more recent pics:
Sleepy baby has lots of dark hair...
And looks to have the same blue eyes as her sister, but time will tell!

Carys seems to have grown one year and ten pounds during the 3 days we were at the hospital. Weird stuff. I love you baby, you are beautiful, sensitive and hilarious, and you're going to be an awesome big sister.

Project sleepy time
Today we came into your room when Daddy got home and discovered you had set up shop in the bottom drawer of your dresser. Too funny....you took all of the clothes out and brought in your pillow and blanket. If only you would go to sleep that easily!
You passed out on my lap this night, I love it when that happens.

Blog nesting
First, Me oh My, she's a mom/stylist extraordinairre. Check out her living room. Love the striped pillows, the diy chevron painting, the windows...
Layers of Meaning is another great one with her "etsy find of the day" and design inspiration like her new baby's nursery..

There is always something good to check out at Madebygirl too...lots of home tours of real people's houses and how they did it...

Ok this one is so awesome, makes me want to throw a party every weekend. I am using a party found on here to inspire Carys' party this June, very excited! You can search by theme or occasion, hours of fun for nerds like me.
So many great ideas and inspiration at Hostess with the Mostess like this carnival themed party...

I can't get enough of these straws for some reason!

Also I have found some great things through the Nate Berkus show (which by the way is the best daytime talk show simply because he actually features things that are doable and useful, tons of design tips and ideas, party planning, money-saving, fashion on a budget, etc. I highly recommend DVRing it if you care about that sort of thing! Great stuff on his blog.
Here is a "5 dollar fix" he did by just gluing some fabric to the back of a bookcase...

Alright that's it, I think I am done with my "blog nesting", now I think I will go scrub some toilets or something.

Are we there yet?
She could come any day now, and we have all of our gear set up. Got some new bedding and artwork. I am loving her side of the room. I chose the popular Love print from Madebygirl in Tangerine, butterfly crib bumper from Land of Nod, and found that old chinese checker board at a yard sale in Idaho. The crib sheet is light pink, though you can't really tell from this picture.
Project rainy day
It's such a novelty when it rains here so we get excited. We each get an umbrella and play outside in the puddles. For some reason you wanted Elmo to come with us and we forgot him, so you ran back inside yelling, "I'm coming Elmo!!" You had me laughing today as usual.
I had to add this picture too. What else to do on a rainy day but dress up like a princess...again! We found this cool hat at Target for a buck.
