Blog love

I'm not sure if any of my 3 readers noticed, but I re-did the blog section on the left margin over here. I divided them up into categories: Design & Lifestyle, Food, Fashion, Parties, and Kids stuff. Don't know if that helps anyone, but I am on this organizing kick so it makes me feel good.

I've found some new (to me anyway) blogs that I love. Here are a couple:

Small Shop talks about design and fashion, one example:

Look Who's Cooking Now has a tons of great recipes that are doable and look delicious. She just posted one for Chicken Tarragon using store bought rotisserie that I need to try. We already tried another recipe, ribeye with egg and goat cheese and it was EPIC. And I never use that word so you know its good:

Evolution of a wiggle worm

Looks like I will need to find something else to entertain her while I cook. The bouncy seat is no longer working for baby Charlie....

And saved by her sister!

Wedding Time

Andrew and Adriana's wedding was on Saturday, it was awesome. Everything looked beautiful and we had a fabulous time. I really didn't get as many pictures as I wanted on my camera, that's what happens when you're toting around a 6 month old I guess! My sister in law got a lot more, so I'll just have to wait for her to get her download on to get the really good ones.

Dancing with Daddy, yes I did her hair! A very proud parenting moment for me

OK so I dropped the ball on this one's hair, but look how cuddly she is!

Gettin' it done!

With my Dad and my brothers, love these guys!

David and Michelle in the dance contest, no pressure....needless to say, my hubby opted out of this one :)

My dad and stepmom Phoeby doin their thing. They did a fox trot, tango and a waltz. Very cool!

Beautiful!

Here is my flower girl Carys with my niece Sydney. She did such a good job! And by good job I mean she didn't freak out, couldn't ask for more than that

Its a Wrap

I didn't post anything all week. It just flew by and sadly I was consumed with finding an outfit to wear to my stepbrother Andrew's wedding yesterday. I needed it to be nursing friendly, but I didn't want it to be...gasp...a "mom" dress.
I found this wrap dress at Nordstrom and was very happy! Thus the play on words, get it..it's a wrap...haha, aanyways...here it is:

I was a lot happier than the model here is, cheer up!

30 Day Shred?

I started doing this 30 day Shred by Jillian Michaels on September 13th. It's the first exercise video I have done more than twice, now that's what I call progress! It's only about 20 minutes a day but let me tell you it is non-stop and no joke my friends. Confession: I have skipped 2 days (not in a row) and if I don't get it done today that will be 3. I'd better get on it! I will say that my clothes already fit better and I just feel better.

Of course Carys wants to do it with me, this is the outfit she puts on every time it starts, her "exercise clothes". She can hang for a couple minutes and then says, "Mommy, exercise makes me tired!" Me too my child....me too.

BFF

I was tucking Carys in the other night and she told me, "when Charlie gets bigger, we're going to be best friends." Come on with me, awwwwww! And Charlie is fascinated with her sister, she is always smiling at her and Carys makes her laugh the hardest.
I love it. And I love them. Ah my girls!

Masterpiece Theatre

The other day Carys drew something and said "look this is a monkey!". And it actually looked like a monkey! Well kind of...anyway I was so proud of my big girl.
It was in yellow so now it is fading a bit, so I figured I better take a picture before it fades away.

Speaking of it, I like these cheap ways to display kids art. Nothing ground breaking here, but something that would be so easy to put together.

Just a string and some clothespins...featured on this awesome blog I came across Libbie Grove Design. Check out her made over playroom, would be an awesome homeschool room too!

Dee-lightful Appetizers

I served these two appetizers recently and they were A-OK daddy-oh! Wow, who talks like that?

I had a corn dip just like this in Alaska which I could not stop eating. I found a similar recipe on Tasty Kitchen. Serving this with Fritos is absolutely essential.

These take some assembling work but SO worth it in the end. I first saw them on this fabulous blog called Look, Linger, Love (click on link for the recipe fittingly called Ham Delights). The funny thing is that they call for poppy seeds which I begrudgingly spent 5 bucks on, had them out on the counter, and STILL forgot to add them into the mix! Ah motherhood.

before baking....

all nice and melty...

Chevron

So chevron designs are everywhere and have been for a while. And I don't think they are going anywhere either!

For my sister-in-law's bridal shower I wrapped a cookbook in this fabric and tied it to a serving plate. I loved how it turned out. I am declaring wrapping paper is officially out. And cards are too. Just give books and then sign the inside of them.

Chevron curtains from Crate & Barrel. I love these new curtains we got. Neutral but with a little fun mixed in. And yes that is a dirty diaper sitting outside the door...just keepin it real people.

Heir Jordan

Both of my babies have now worn this Jordan onesie. People have been saying Charlie is looking more like Carys. I'm not so sure yet...

Charlie just turned 5 months old! She is smacking her lips so we think she is ready for solids. I'll probably pick up some rice cereal this week and the fun will begin. And this girl is strong too. She lifts herself up on her tummy super high, I think she can do more push ups than me. Although sadly that isn't saying much...

Did you see it?

The Pioneer Woman's food network show debuted last Saturday! Yes, it was awesomeness. Its on Saturday morning. DVR it if you want to be inspired to cook, and also maybe to gain a few pounds. She made chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and also these delicous looking breakfast sandwiches.

Now I know my husband loves me, but if I made these...I think I would be his hero. He loves him some jalapeno. And some texas toast. And some sausage and eggs.

Cook it up PW!
